The Lynnwood Recreation Center is currently undergoing a $25M remodel of their 33-year-old recreation facility. The new Recreation Center is expected to serve as a regional recreation destination. The original Recreation Center was built in 1976 with 28,568 sq. ft. The new renovation includes 16,232 additional sq. ft. making the new Center a total of 44,800 sq. ft. This facility will be Leed Certified and is estimated to cost 17M to construct. The renovation is expected to be complete by the spring of 2011.
The recreation center renovation will include a leisure pool with slide and spray features, a Lazy River, a wellness pool and enclosure of the competitive pool with a partially retractable pool roof. Additionally, family locker rooms, group exercise space, fitness/weight room, are also being added to the center.
B*K scope of services for this facility included market analysis, operations estimates for 4 different facility options, and a detailed operations plan for the preferred option that is currently under construction.
