  • Common Ground Elkhorn, NE

    This facility is a joint venture between the City of Elkhorn and the Elkhorn Public Schools District teaming together to bring a winning center to the community.

  • Farmington Youth Services Center Farmington, NM

    The Farmington Youth Services Center is a city owned facility operated by the Boys and Girls Club of Farmington.

  • Jim Parsley Community Center Vancouver, WA

    The Jim Parsley Community Center was built by the Vancouver School District and houses several organizations working together to assist families and children. The recreation center offers fitness and wellness programs as well as a free clinic.

  • Medina Recreation Center/High School Medina, OH

    The Medina Recreation Center was a joint project between the Medina City Schools and the City of Medina.

  • Missoula Aquatic Facilities-Splash Montana and The Lake Missoula, MT

    Missoula can be proud of the success they have achieved with their dream to build two exciting water parks called “Splash Montana” and “The Lake.” With the collaboration of local government and citizens, including swim advocates who organized as Swim Missoula, Inc. to raise money for part of the project their vision for this exciting facility has come to fruition.

  • NIBCO Water & Ice Park Elkhart, IN

    The City of Elkhart's NIBCO Water & Ice Park was designed to provide ice-skating during the winter months and in-line skating during the summer months.

  • Osborn Aquatic Center Corvallis, OR

    The Osborn Aquatic Center is a joint facility between the Corvallis School District and the City of Corvallis. The center includes an outdoor leisure pool, as well as 50-meter indoor competitive pool.

  • Red Mountain Multigenerational Center Mesa, AZ

    This multigenerational center is a partnership between the City of Mesa and Mesa Seniors Inc. designed to provide a variety of recreation services to citizens of all ages.

  • Sherwood YMCA Sherwood, OR

    The Sherwood Family YMCA was a joint project between the City of Sherwood and the Columbia-Willamette YMCA.

  • Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center Study Waverly, IA

    Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center also known as “The W” was a joint project between Wartburg College and the City of Waverly.

  • Whitewater Community Aquatic Center Whitewater, WI

    The Whitewater Aquatic Center was a joint effort of the Whitewater Unified School District & the City of Whitewater.

Project Studies

  • Adrian Recreation Center Feasibility Study Adrain, MI

    B*K is performing a feasibility study for a joint public and non-profit recreation center. B*K's scope of services includes the following: market analysis, stakeholder interviews, focus groups sessions, partnerships, and project funding analysis.

  • Beech Grove Recreation Center Feasibility Study Beech Grove, IN

    B*K provided master planning services and operations assistance for the remodel of an old building on school district property that will be used as a joint recreation and school facility. The project involved joint city and school district planning, project phasing and prioritization, and management needs assessment.

  • Rapid City Main Street Square Rapid City, SD

    B*K in conjunction with an architect provided Destination Rapid City with a feasibility study for an outdoor summer events area as well as a winter outdoor skating rink.

  • Rapid City Recreation Center Study Rapid City, SD

    As one option for the development of a community recreation center, B*K analyzed the feasibility of partnering with the school district for a joint high school/recreation center.
    The study included programming, collection of public input, joint use agreements, market analysis, and operating cost and revenue projections.

  • Seminole Community Center Seminole, OK

    B*K completed for the City of Seminole a feasibility study for a community recreation center. The proposed center if accepted would be funded in part by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. At this time, the Foundation has invited five Oklahoma communities to apply for a Community Centers Initiative Planning Grant. The City of Seminole is one of the cities invited to apply. B*K’s scope of services on this study included programming, market analysis and an operations pro-forma.

  • Shaker Heights Recreation/Athletic Needs Study Shaker Heights, OH

    Ballard*King & Associates working in conjunction with a local architectural firm, completed a comprehensive analysis of the recreation/athletic facility needs for the city and school district together. This study involved a considerable amount of joint city school district planning, assessment of existing facilities and programs, determination of future facility and program needs, management planning, presentation of comparable models, recreation trend analysis, and the development of a strategic plan.

  • Vancouver Middle School/Sports Center Feasibility Study Vancouver, WA

    Ballard*King and Associates in conjunction with a local architectural firm, worked on the plans for a new joint middle school and community recreation center complex. B*K conducted a pre-design assessment and evaluation of the existing site (some outdoor recreation amenities were already on site), participated in a three day design seminar with representatives of the school district and the city’s recreation department, and identified key areas of joint use and development for the project.

  • West Des Moines Recreation Center Study West Des Moines, IA

    B*K working with a local architect, conducted a pre-design feasibility study for a new community recreation center that would be combined with a new 9th grade school. This project involved considerable school district and city planning, a definition of required facility needs and expectations from both entities, the development of program spaces, and an estimate of operating expenses and revenues.
