• Farmington Sports Complex Farmington, NM

  As part of a larger local project team, B*K completed the preliminary planning for the development of an 80 acre sports complex that includes baseball and softball fields, a tournament quality tennis complex and other outdoor recreation components.

  The Farmington Sports Complex includes: baseball fields, tennis courts, batting cages, sand volleyball court, picnic shelters, play area, horseshoes, hiking trail, and restrooms.

• Pelican Park Mandeville, LA

  B*K completed a master plan for the expansion of the Pelican Park sports complex.

• Raccoon River Regional Park West Des Moines, IA

  The City of West Des Moines's Raccoon River Regional Park is a wonderful mixture of active and passive parkland. The park has soccer and softball fields, a lake, as well as hundreds of acres of natural wildlife area.

Project Studies

• Carmel/Clay Central Park Master Plan Carmel, IN

  As part of a larger local project team, B*K completed the master planning for the development of a 200 acre park complex that includes both active sports elements, (baseball, softball fields) specialized facilities such as a skateboard park, and an outdoor water park, plus an indoor recreation center. The project team developed a schematic design for the complex, assessing the need for various components and completed an operations assessment for the facility.

• Clark County-Southwest Regional Sports Park Master Plan Las Vegas, NV

  Ballard*King & Associates as part of a larger project team is working on a development plan for the Southwest Regional Sport Park. B*K’s role is to assist with programming to determine key elements of the park and operations analysis. This is planned to be a regionally focused, non-traditional, sports park with a strong emphasis on revenue production.

• J C Bermudez Park Study Doral, FL

  The City of Doral's JC Bermudez Park is an 81-acre park with a 21-acre lake. B*K completed a feasibility study to look at adding various components to the park. The option being considered were an 80,000 SF recreation center, outdoor aquatic center, tennis center, amphitheater and stadium.

  B*K's services for this project included: market analysis, programming assistance and review, conceptual layout review, design review and operations pro-forma.

• Lucas County Recreation Center Maumee, OH

  B*K in partnership with a local architectural firm, completed a plan for the redevelopment of the Lucas County Recreation Center, which is an outdoor park area that includes the old Toledo Mudhens Baseball ballpark, Lucas County Fairgrounds, an outdoor aquatics area, softball complex and other amenities. Several plans were developed that dramatically changed the components and lay-out of the park and B*K completed the programming and operations options for the facility.

• Principal Riverwalk Plan Des Moines, IA

  Ballard*King and Associates was part of a large project team that developed a comprehensive master plan for the downtown Des Moines River project. B*A was responsible for determining appropriate recreational amenities to include along the river front (both indoor and outdoor) to attract people to this area of Des Moines. Park amenities included outdoor event and festival space, concession and watercraft rentals, event and meeting areas, as well as links to indoor recreation areas. B*A was also responsible for the development of the initial operations budget for the river walk.

• Rapid City Main Street Square Rapid City, SD

  B*K in conjunction with an architect provided Destination Rapid City with a feasibility study for an outdoor summer events area as well as a winter outdoor skating rink.

• Recreation District #1 of St. Tammany Parish Strategic Plan Mandeville, LA

  Ballard*King & Associates developed a Strategic Plan for this Park & Recreation Agency.

• Sinaloa Community Park Simi Valley, CA

  Ballard*King & Associates is in the process of conducting a feasibility study for the Sinaloa Community Park. B*K's services include a market analysis and programming assistance.

• Waterfront Park Master Plan Kansas City, MO

  Ballard*King and Associates working with a local project team completed a master plan for the abandoned Waterfront Park. This included Missouri River access, boat docks, marina, RV Park, picnic and wildlife viewing areas. B*A was responsible for developing the initial operating plan for the park.
